What We Do

The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce offers members an array of opportunities for involvement through programs, events, and committees. Each Chamber member is encouraged to engage in at least one area of interest or influence so that the Chamber's voice is strong and accurately represents its broad membership base.

Areas of Interest and Influence:
Military Affairs
Public and Community Affairs
Membership Services
Business Development
Chamber Ambassadors

Military Affairs

The Military Affairs Committee seeks to meet and provide for the military families who locate within our community.  We believe that as citizens and business owners of Clarksville-Montgomery County, we are a vital part of the support system for our military families. We are committed to sharing in their sacrifice and to helping to honor the lives dedicated and sacrificed for our freedom.

Primary objectives of the committee are to produce meaningful events including Warrior Week, Veterans Day commemorative activities and Citizens for Fort Campbell - an advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. for approximately fifty citizens from Clarksville, Hopkinsville, and Oak Grove to advocate for projects for Fort Campbell.

Network of Care

The Network of Care for Service Members, Veterans & Their Families is a one-stop-shop for virtually all services, information, support, advocacy, and much more. This public service is an attempt to bring together critical information for all components of the veterans' community, including veterans, family members, active-duty personnel, reservists, members of the National Guard, employers, service providers, and the community at large. Visit Montgomery County Network of Care

Public & Community Affairs

The Public and Community Affairs committee focuses on education initiatives such as Partners in Education, The Imagination Library program and Community Clean Up Days.

Committee involvement includes:
- Helping find ways to fund Imagination Library for the more than 5,000 children in Montgomery County currently enrolled in the program
- The Great American Clean-Up volunteer effort is held each spring

The committee connects businesses and schools by supporting Clarksville-Montgomery County School System education initiatives such as 100% Graduation and the Partners In Education breakfast. The Chamber also partners with the Montgomery County Career Center to host a Career Fair with approximately 3,000 job seekers visiting the 100 exhibiting organizations.

Each year the committee works to craft the Chamber's legislative agenda and present it to the Montgomery County delegation in Nashville. The delegation participates in committee meetings to discuss community issues to help determine areas of advocacy. Election year political forums provide an opportunity for candidates to answer questions. The committee planned a very successful international visit to China with twenty-five delegates participating and getting acquainted with the ancient yet changing culture in search of connections to our community.

Membership Services

Membership Services focuses on developing and enhancing Chamber programs that both support existing members and encourage the recruitment of new members. This committee works hand in hand with the Ambassador group as a link to the membership to ensure that the Chamber continues to represent all members equally. This committee will plan and execute the nomination process for the newly created, Clarksville Chamber Community Commitment Award. Membership Services is responsible for: The Annual Gala, The Chamber Membership Golf Scramble, and Monthly Business After Hours.

Business Development

The Business Development Committee focuses its efforts on key initiatives to support all forms of business in the community.

Primary programs include:
- Women in Business
- Power Breakfast
- Home and Garden Show
- Business to Business Expo

These events invite speakers to educate and inspire business owners to go the next level. The Live Local campaign, which encourages residents to think and buy local, was an initiative of this committee and was marketed throughout the community by sponsoring member businesses. The committee visited many of our local industries and businesses this past year to show our support and appreciation of existing industries in our community.

The committee also supports the Better Beef Show and Farm Family of the Year. The Kenneth Johnson Memorial Award was presented to the Chamber at the awards program for their dedication and support of the Beef Show.

The Clarksville Young Professionals kicked off in October 2007 with over 150 members wanting to build relationships, develop professionally, become politically and philanthropically active, and contribute to the economic development and high quality of life in our community.

Chamber Ambassadors

The Chamber Ambassadors serve as a link between the Chamber board, staff and the general membership.

Through surveys, networking and interacting, we gather valuable feedback that helps develop programs and initiatives for our members. In attending events, Chamber Ambassadors facilitate our connection to members and develop relationships for their own businesses. Ambassadors participate in events such as Business After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings, Ground Breakings and Power Breakfasts.

The committee is perfect for sales given the opportunity to meet newly opened businesses. They also ensure that our current members' needs are met through visits, calls and email.
