Chamber, IDB Team Up for ‘Soft Skills’ Power Breakfast

Published Friday, August 26, 2016

The Chamber and Industrial Development Board are partnering to sponsor a Power Breakfast on Tuesday, September 20. The event begins at 7:30a.m. and will be held at the Riverview Inn, 50 College Street.

Greg Coker, author, speaker and former executive will discuss work-ready skills such as communication, problem solving, customer service, teamwork and conflict resolution.

“While today’s workforce are technically competent, they often lack what is commonly referred to as ‘soft skills’,” says Coker. “They leave school knowing ‘things’ but not ‘people.’ They’re good at the ‘what’ but not with the ‘who.’ Now more than ever those entering the workforce need a crash course on soft skills!”

Coker has over 25 years of experience as a senior level executive with three different fortune 500 companies where he led the training & development for over 80,000 employees. His clients include public education, healthcare, business and industry, colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations and high performance individuals who benefit from his executive/life coaching. As author of Building Cathedrals: The Power of Purpose and Moving the Needle: Appreciate, Activate & Rehabilitate, Greg provides a powerful and life changing one-day workshop on the “soft skills” guaranteed to increase employee effectiveness while boosting your company’s productivity, retention and customer satisfaction.

Cost is $30 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Individuals may send an RSVP with credit card payment to Lucian Greene via email at Lucian@clarksville.tn.us or call 245-4342 by September 15.
